Dale Allaire, Founding Partner

Dale is a founding partner of BVM and is responsible for managing all aspects of PR, media relations, social media, web/SEO and digital marketing initiatives and campaigns for high-technology companies across a wide variety of market sectors.

A 25-year sales, public/analyst relations, and marketing veteran, Dale has developed and coordinated all aspects of direct marketing, channel marketing, public relations, analyst relations, customer relations, internal communications, sales & lead-generation and has worked for such companies as Cabletron Systems, Nortel Networks, SilverBack Technologies, CEPA Technologies, and Pannaway Technologies.

Since the early 1990’s, Dale has shared a common vision with co-founder Mike Emerton which led to the formation of BVM. The basic premise of this vision was to provide organizations with the PR and Marketing resources traditionally associated with larger corporate agencies—but with the responsive, high-touch customer care and value of a boutique firm. Also, to build an experienced and professional team that could become more than a client’s “agency of record”—but rather an integrated extension of their core business process.

Dale’s experience and knowledge has fueled the creation of a truly unique agency model which combines the core services that any high-tech organization needs to bridge the gap between PR, digital marketing and demand-generation.

Mike Emerton, Founding Partner

For over 25 years, Mike has been a respected PR expert with extensive technology experience in enterprise management software, LAN/WAN architectures, wireless communications and crisis management experience for corporate and not-for-profit organizations. During his fifteen-plus years, he has held director-level positions within notable companies such as 3Com and Cabletron Systems, he developed marketing and communications strategies to globally launch core product lines such as Cabletron’s SmartSwitch and 3Com’s CoreBuilder while introducing new broadband and wireless products to vertical and SME markets.

His PR initiatives have garnered national, mainstream attention as he worked with 3Com and The Commission on Presidential Debates, to provide 1000 press members in the 2000 Presidential Debates with their first broadband connectivity for filing stories and photos via 3Com’s new Visitor Base Networks. The benefits of Mike’s work also enabled 3Com to capture several industry awards including Best Product of the Year.

Mike also brings a keen understanding of issues faced by start-up software organizations. As a key member of Aprisma Management Technologies’ marketing team, Mike helped position a maturing, network management offering (Spectrum) as a “must have” to preserve business services via reducing mean-time-to-repair. He also assisted in the creation and alignment of new marketing messages pertaining to: the evolution of new technologies such as MPLS and wireless; positioning engineers as “visionaries” and spotlighting strong product heritage in the press through customer case studies such as Microsoft, Edward D. Jones & Co, Caesars’ Palace, John Hopkins University, NASA and Fort Knox. Mike’s work helped Aprisma enter the SME market as well as launch products in EMEA and ASIA-PAC.

Notable are Mike’s crisis management skills, where he developed and delivered key messages to the press for Voice of the Faithful, a lay Catholic organization seeking changes within the church. His PR guidance brought the group global fame via Time Magazine, New York Times, People Magazine, WSJ, Life, NewsWeek, international broadcast coverage as well as his appearances to deliver messages on MSNBC, NPR, The Phil Donahue Show and Dateline.
